Stephen Hinton, M.D.

Dr. Hinton joined Genstler Eye Center in 2016 and offers an array of ophthalmic services such as LASIK, cataract surgery, glaucoma and dry eye treatment.

Dr. Hinton has received advanced training in premium intraocular lenses and laser vision correction. He has practiced ophthalmology since 2010 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He joined the American Academy of Ophthalmology and became certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 2014. For three years he served in a rural community near Dallas by providing cutting-edge cataract surgery, diabetic eye care and innovative glaucoma treatments.

Dr. Hinton was raised in Fresno, California in a family that valued service to the community in their respective medical professions. He received his undergraduate degree at UCLA and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in physiology in 2005. He earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) in 2009 and completed an internal medicine internship at Baylor Dallas. He then returned to UTSW to finish his training in ophthalmology residency.

Dr. Hinton is an avid reader, especially science fiction and fantasy. He enjoys boating and wake boarding, travel, sports, and road trips with his wife, Julie and dog, Violet.
