Dr. Jamie Dietze-Regier was drawn to a career in ophthalmology for the aspects of medicine that she enjoys most – patient care, research and outreach. As a child, she watched the impact that her father had, and still has, on many patients as a physician in Hastings, NE which is what initially gave her the desire to do the same.
“There are very few areas in medicine where your patients return so satisfied and grateful of the improvement you have made in their quality of life” Dietze-Regier said of ophthalmology.
Dr. Dietze-Regier attended medical school at the University of Nebraska School of Medicine. She then took to the mountains of West Virginia for her ophthalmology surgical residency and a fellowship in Glaucoma at WVU Medicine. However, her and her husband missed the people of the Midwest and decided to move back a little closer to home to start practicing medicine.
Dr. Dietze-Regier’s expertise in the treatment of glaucoma brings tremendous value to the communities that Genstler Eye Center serves. “Having additional expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma will provide our patients with the care they deserve right here in their home town!” Says Dr. Genstler.
Besides all levels of glaucoma care, Dr. Dietze-Regier offers a variety of clinical and surgical ophthalmology services including cataract surgery, premium intraocular lenses, and dry eye treatment.
When Dr. Dietze-Regier isn’t working, she enjoys growing flowers, exercising, baking, Nebraska football, board games and country swing dancing with her husband Dan, who happens to be a physician also! Both her and her husband are excited to take care of the Kansas community.
